
Dimapur, March 11: A complaint has been lodged at Mokokchung Police Station-II in connection with the March 9 incident at Longkhum village in Mokokchung district where a mob vandalised and destroyed around 16 houses.
According to the complainants, Shilumongla and Temsunungsang, a mob of around “20 to 25 people vandalised and destroyed” the house of 16 persons at around 7 p.m. on March 9 in Longkhum village.
They also provided the names of the 16 villagers whose houses were vandalised by the mob.
While stating that “all the people who were responsible for the damage of the houses could not be established/identified”, the complainants however named 11 persons they could identity among the mob-one of them currently employed by Nagaland Police.
“The matter being as such, request is placed before your kind authority to look into the matter at the earliest and necessary action taken from your end for which we would remain ever grateful”, they stated.
