Dimapur, August 10: India Northeast Tribal Community Welfare Society (INTCWS), Notun Bosti under its education wing Libra Consultancy, Dimapur conducted a free career-oriented educational seminar for class 10,11and 12 (arts and science) students of Greenwood Hr Sec School Dimapur on August 9.
In the first phase of the programme, resource person Christina focused on the importance of career-planning at an early stage to prepare students mentally and work towards achieving their dream career. Career planning is to be made on the basis of students’ interests, aptitude, skills, values, personality, she said.
Students were also encouraged to keep their career options open so that they will have a back up plan in case of any eventuality. The resource motivated the students that in today’s technological world they need to manipulate information to their utmost advantage, since knowledge is at easy disposal with the touch of a finger and in order to log in to success , discipline is the user id while hard work is the password . She advised the students to be curious of things around them, build concentration and be confident.
In the second session, both resource person and chairman, INTCWS, Atsei Sekhose interacted with the students on a personal and one on one counseling .They spoke on the available career options , scopes and job prospects, and deliberated on different competitive exams like public services, NEET, JEE, NATA, NSEE and other entry point exams into different professional courses. Students were provided tips and practical steps on how to prepare for these exams. Altogether 600 plus students participated.
