
Dimapur, March 12: The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) will stage a peaceful dharna for one hour, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., in front of the Civil Secretariat at Kohima as part of a nationwide protest on March 14.
“The CANSSEA deliberated about the issue and decided to have a peaceful dharna in front of the Civil Secretariat from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the Nagaland National Pension System Government Service Employees Forum (NNPSGSEF) has decided to take part in the dharna”, informed a notice issued by NNPSGSEF on Sunday.
The Forum requested all its Executive Members and the Coordinators of each Department to take part in the dharna and ensure participation of at least 10 members. The nationwide dharna on March 14 has been called under the aegis of All India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF).
While the AISGEF has submitted a seven-point charter of demands, the NNPSGSEF stated that its sole focus will be the annulment of PFRDA Act and scrapping of NPS.
The seven-point charter of demands include annulment of PFRDA Act and scrapping of NPS; constitution of 8th Central Pay Commission; release of all contractual/daily wage employees and fill up vacancies in State Government; stop privatisation/corporatisation of PUSs; remove all riders and restrictions on compassionate employment; and ensure democratic trade union rights.
On March 14, employees from the neighbouring States of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi will stage the peaceful dharna in the Parliament, the press release stated.
