CANSSEA censures NLA’s 18 May notification

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, JUNE 3: The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees Association (CANSSEA) has termed the Notification issued by Nagaland Legislative Assembly on May 18 last as “irrational, absolute, irresponsible and contradictory” to the Nagaland Retirement from Public Employment (Second Amendment) Act 2009, which governs all employees of the State Government.
In a representation to Chief Secretary Nagaland, CANSSEA president, Dr Ilang and general secretary, Dr Hovithal Sothu stated that the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association being a federating association to the CANSSEA, apprised their grievances in the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat (Recruitment and Conditions of Services 3rd Amendment) Rules 2022, which appears to be genuine and therefore, deliberated upon the said Notification and observed grave abnormalities brought about by the Notification in question.
Quoting the Third Schedule, “Contract (a) A superannuated Office who is otherwise eligible to be appointed on deputation, not exceeding the age of 65 years”, the CANSSEA said this amended Act would create unrest amongst the Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association supported by the state Government Employees which would directly affect the smooth functioning of the Government.
The CANSSEA, therefore, appealed to the Chief Secretary to treat all Government employees as equal, take corrective measures and address the grievances put forth at the earliest.
