Kohima, May 26: The Catholic Association of Nagaland has donated Rs. 7 lakhs to the State Government.
In a letter to the Chief Minister the CAN General Secretary, Thomas Magh and Advisor, Keneingu Albert said they are offering Rs. 7 lakhs to partake in shouldering the transportation cost of passengers stranded in other states being brought home in hired buses. “Please accept our humble gesture and good will” the letter stated.
The CAN said they understand the enormity of Government’s responsibility which has increased much more by the weight of COVID-19 pandemic. “We come forward to remind you that we are with you in our humble prayers, in your resolve in protecting the lives of the citizens of Nagaland from the infection of the pandemic COVID-19” the Catholic Church said.
“With humble prayers to our Almighty God for his mercies upon all of us, and in solidarity with your efforts and god will, the catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) would like to offer a sum of Rs. 7 lakhs” the CAN said. (Page News Service)
