DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 2: Thipuzu village led the medal tally on the first day of the 50th golden jubilee of Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) with 15 medals (8 gold, 4 silver, 3 bronze) here at Phüsachodü village in Phek district on Tuesday.
Phüsachodü village was second with 17 medals (4 gold, 5 silver, 8 bronze), while Rukizu stood third with 4 medals (2 gold, one silver, one bronze).
The athletic events-which include track events such as 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 4×200m for both men and women, and field events like high jump, board jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw and triple jump-took place on Day 1 at the local ground.
The first gold of the CAGSA meet was clinched by Melevo Rose of Thipuzu (12.55m) in men’s shot put, with Venuzo Dawhuo of Thenyizu village in second position.
In women shot put, Zuniekholu Khamo of Phüsachodü claimed the first position with 10.70m throw and Honi Medeo of Chetheba came second with 10.44m.
In 100 metre dash (men), Kudephuyi Ruho of Phüsachodü village finished first, followed by Khruseto Dawhuo of Thenyizu.
In women category, Kuzhopolu Medeo took the gold medal for Rukizu village and Honi Medeo of Chetheba came second. (Page News Service)
