Pangnyu appeals to both parties to maintain peace
Dimapur, September 14: The Cabinet Sub Committee on Dimapur and Peren led by Chairman S. Pangnyu Phom, Minister for Health & Family Welfare visited the disputed areas and neighboring villages today.
The committee members interacted with both the parties and asked them to submit all relevant documents to the committee through their respective Deputy Commissioner.
Informing that the committee is not formed particularly for pockets of disputed areas but for amicable demarcation of the entire Dimapur and Peren District boundary, the Sub-committee also cited that based on the documents and evidence submitted by the parties and after due consultation with all stakeholders, the Committee will examine for final solution.
In the meantime, the committee convenor, S Pangnyu Phom requested both parties to maintain peace and to extend all possible help and co-operation to the committee while visiting and interacting with NGOs and public leaders from Lamhai Namdhi and adjoining villages.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur and Superintendent of Police, Peren also briefed the committee on law and order situation and action taken to prevent any anti-social elements activities in the areas.
The Committee consisting of 5 Cabinet Ministers with S. Pangnyu Phom, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Neiba Kronu, Minister for Planning and Coordination, Paiwang Konyak, Minister for Transport and Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development was constituted by the Cabinet to finalize the demarcation of Dimapur-Peren Boundary.
During the visit, Nagaland Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners of Dimapur and Peren, Director for Land Record and Revenue, IGP(IR), Commissioner of Police, Dimapur and Superintendent of Police, Peren and other government officials accompanied the Cabinet Sub-Committee. (Page News Service)
