C. Elina Sangtam wins ‘Miss Queen of Nations’

C. Elina Sangtam from Nagaland was declared the winner of Miss Queen of Nations, a beauty pageant for winners of various pageants held across India.
The first of its kind pageant, which was held digitally, 60 contestants across the country participated. It is an initiative of Naaz Joshi who had won the title of ‘Miss World Diversity’ thrice.
As part of the pageant, the works of the contestants were observed for a year on various social issues. Elina was declared as the winner because of her awareness campaigns about transgender and empowerment of women from northeast India besides other factors.
Elina had made her debut in beauty pageants in 2016 when she participated in the ‘Nagaland Princess’ contest and emerged as the 2nd Runner-up along with the titles of ‘The Photogenic Princess’ and ‘Miss Congeniality’.
In 2019, she represented Nagaland and won the MIHM Miss Queen Universe International 2019.
