Bongkhao reviews security situation in Aboi

Dimapur, June 23: Adviser DUDA, N. Bongkhao Konyak visited Aboi and Longching on June 20 to review security situation in the aftermath of the ambush of 40 Assam rifles patrol team near Aboi Town on June 17. He met with the NGO leaders and administration of Aboi and Longching.
Bongkhao said he had come on behalf of the Government of Nagaland and elected members of Mon district to share the problems and fear of the people of Aboi and Longching. He appealed to all the public to cooperate with the Government and administration to bring peace and tranquility in the area.
We should appeal the NSCN (K) to return to cease-fire in the greater interest of the Naga people, he added.
He also met the bereaved family of Late sepoy Hungnga Konyak at Longching village and gave the condolence message on behalf of the Government and elected members of Mon District. He also rendered financial help to the bereaved family.
Bongkhao also met with the Major YK Lohani, 40 Assam Rifles F/Coy at Aboi and appealed to love the people and work together with the administration and NGO leaders to bring peace and tranquility. The Major also welcomed the Adviser and said that he has more plan to work for the public as well as students of Aboi and Longching. (Page News Service)
