Blood donation camp at IMDH Mkg


Dimapur, August 28: In commemoration of Major Durga Malla, the first Gorkha soldier from the Gorkha ethnic group in the Indian National Army (INA) who sacrificed his life for the cause of Indian independence, a blood donation camp was organized by the Gorkha Union, Mokokchung in collaboration with Blood Bank Imkongmeren Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) on August 25.
During a short programme held at IDSP Hall IMDH, President Gorkha Union, Mokokchung, Manbir Aley read out a brief life sketch of Major Durga Malla. Short speech was delivered by Dr Chubala Aier, (MO in-charge Blood Bank IMDH); Pastor, Mokokchung Town Gurkha Baptish Church, Kiron Mohote said the invocation and general secretary, Gorkha Union Mokokchung, Prahlad Gurung chaired the programme.
Around 20 members of the Gurkha Union, Mokokchung voluntarily donated blood in the occasion. (Page News Service)
