Dimapur, April 16: A meeting of Block Task Force on COVID-19 in Pfutsero was held on April 13 to discuss measures for public safety and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines issued by the State Government.
The members were informed about the importance of public awareness on COVID-19 and necessary measures that need to be followed. It was informed that before strictly enforcing Standard Operating Procedures in public spaces, repeated announcements were made in Pfutsero town as part of public awareness, soon to be followed by enforcement of measures by authorities concerned.
The meeting discussed about strict enforcement of SOPs and guidelines, especially, mandatory wearing of masks in public places, gatherings, churches, both in Pfutsero town and in the villages. Similarly, all the shops are to install hand wash and hand sanitizer facilities as per the directive of the Government. In this regard, periodical checking will be conducted and defaulters penalized.
The members were informed about the random sampling with Rapid Antigen Test kit for screening of COVID-19 to be soon undertaken by Health Department for shopkeepers, drivers, bank officials, and persons with high risk exposure, for which, cooperation of public leaders was sought.
A COVID-19 care facility at CHC, Pfutsero will be set up in coordination with SMO, Pfutsero. The meeting discussed the vaccination drive and members were urged to get the vaccination in time. (Page News Service)
