Blind football demo match played at Dimapur


Dimapur, February 16: As part of the Nagaland Blind Football demo/ training camp, a thrilling Blind Football demo match was played between Meghalaya verses Tura team on Sunday at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
Gracing the closing programme as special guest, DC Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS reminded about the Rights of Person with Disability Act, where every child ought to live a normal life.
“Society as a whole should work together to remove the barriers of the differently abled people to make them live a normal life,” he said.
Mentioning that sports promote both mental and physical growth, Kinchi was optimistic that Nagaland players will definitely find a place in the Indian team, saying Nagaland team displayed wonderful show with just 2 days of training. Kinchi also gave away the prizes and certificates to the winning teams and the participants.
Sports Director, Indian Blind Football Federation, Sunil J.Mathew observed that such programmes would pave way for the visually impaired to come out and participate in sports. There is talent and naturally football is in the air in Nagaland, he commented.
Earlier, the Nagaland team also demonstrated their football skills much to the delight of the people.
