
KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 14: While the BJP has assured infrastructure developmental measures and also women and youth welfare, it does not have any declared vision of a solution to Naga Political Issue and ENPO demand for separate statehood.
BJP National President JP Nadda released the party’s Nagaland Vision Document 2023 ahead of the ensuing State election in the presence of Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs John Barla, Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and BJP State president Temjen Imna Along and various BJP national leaders at the State BJP head office here today.
Assuring to preserve the rich Naga identity and culture, the BJP said it will establish a dedicated Nagaland Cultural Research Fund with an investment of Rs 1,000 crores, also establish Saramati Cultural University in Kiphire with an investment of Rs 500 crores to promote Naga culture and invest Rs 100 crores to promote and expand the scope of all major tribal festivals.
Without assuring that the commitment made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the ENPO leaders on their discussions on separate statehood demand, Nadda asserted that BJP would establish an Eastern Nagaland Development Board for the holistic development of the region and also provide a special package for the development of Eastern Nagaland.
“We will work with the Central Government to expedite the construction of the Trans-Nagaland Highway to enable easy access across districts, especially from Eastern Nagaland”, it stated.
The BJP also assured to provide free rice and wheat monthly and 5 kg of black chickpeas and 1 litre of mustard oil per family quarterly, at a subsidized rate to all PDS beneficiaries under the inclusive development.
Existing pension to Rs 1,000 per month for senior citizens, especially disabled and widows will be increased and health insurance cards for cashless medical facilities for all Government employees will be provided, it said.
The BJP also announced to provide free health insurance and social security insurance to all unorganized workers and also in conjunction with the Central Government, provide affordable housing to all under PM Awas Yojana by 2025.
AGRICULTURE AND FARMER WELFARE:
Increase the financial assistance under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme from the current Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per annum. The additional Rs 2000 would be from the State exchequer, it was announced.
Launch the Agri-Infrastructure Mission with an investment of Rs 500 crores.
WOMEN WELFARE:
Introduce Neidonuo Angami Women Welfare Scheme under which a bond of Rs 50,000 will be provided on the birth of a girl child.
Provide free-of-cost, quality education to all female students from Kindergarten to Post Graduate.
Provide 2 free-of-cost LPG cylinders to all Ujjwala beneficiaries every year.
Provide free scooty to meritorious college-going female students.
YOUTH EMPOWERMENT:
Provide 2 lakh self-employment opportunities in the next 5 years.
Introduce Nagaland Tourism Skill Mission to provide training and employment opportunities to 50,000 local youth.
Invest Rs 500 crores to launch a Nagaland Skill Development University to train the youth and make them job-ready.
Provide digital tablets to all the meritorious students of classes 10th and 12th.
BASIC INFRASTRUCTURE:
Continue building all-weather roads and connecting all villages with State and National Highways. More than Rs 10,000 crores worth of projects would be executed in the upcoming years.
Connect Kohima to the railway network by 2024.
Expand the airways facilities and will work with the Central Government to establish an additional airport.
Work with the Central Government for the development of the Tizu-Zungki River as an Inland Water Corridor.
On Good Governance, the BJP asserted to double the per-family annual insurance cap from Rs 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs under Ayushman Bharat.
Constitute the Nagaland Anti Narcotics Task Force under the CMO to curb the menace of drugs in the State and also invest an amount of Rs 500 crores to provide collateral-free loans of up to 10 lakhs to MSMEs.
