BJP reiterates unflinching support to Indo-Naga talks

Dimapur, August 2: On the eve of the 3rd Anniversary of the signing of the Naga Peace Accord, the State Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) President, Temjen Imna Along has congratulated as well as reiterated his party’s unflinching support to the talks held between the Government of India and the various Naga political groups.
The people of Nagaland and other Naga inhabited areas are eagerly waiting for a final and peaceful settlement of the decades-old Naga issue, he said.
The Party recalled that the then Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee accepted the uniqueness of Naga history and situation, which is one of the underlined principles of the agreement.
“The decisiveness of the current BJP government at the centre in signing of the peace accord is a landmark decision and is welcomed by the Naga people,” he said.
The party would also expressed appreciation to all the various Naga political groups for coming together in the interest of our yearning by recognizing each other’s contribution towards the common cause of the Nagas.
Meanwhile, the BJP Nagaland shared its concern with the people undergoing losses and hardships due to unceasing rains and natural calamities. The Party appealed to all to remain calm and extend co-operation to various Government agencies and NGOs who are undertaking various relief efforts throughout the state and pray to the Almighty to protect and guide us during these troubled times.
