Dimapur, June 29: Prior to the official inauguration of the first store of Big Bazaar in Nagaland scheduled on Saturday, the owner of the property Nibu Nagi and CEO, fbb & Big Bazaar East Manish Agarwal today interacted with the media fraternity in its premise here at Nagi House, Circular Road, Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion, Manish informed that this is the fifth store of the company in northeast and first in Nagaland and Future Group has plans to come up with more stores in the days to come in the region and assessments are underway for Kohima too. He said that the company has been associated with the Hornbill Festival for the last three years, understanding the cultures, shedding social responsibilities and building brands. Most of the more than 150 staffs that will be working in the store are locals who were recruited a year ago and were trained in different stores of the company.
Expressing happiness over the fact that Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio would be inaugurating the store, he said that Big Bazaar is not adopting any special strategy to compete with the existing players in the market but would focus on satisfactory customer care services and quality products and let the people decide.
Nibu Nagi in his remark mentioned that earning a profit is not the only motive that he has behind the facility but he is also concerned about generating employment through this as Nagaland is having a major problem of unemployment.
He also urged the government to encourage more such companies to set up in the state so as to address the problem.
Spread across an area of 24,168 sq. ft., the store has five floors and is a one stop destination for all the needs of the people. Manish also assured that all the products available in other stores of Big Bazaar in different cities across the country will also be available here.
