Dimapur, February 23: All business establishments in Nagaland will down their shutters from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on February 26 in support of the 1-day Bharat Vyapar Bandh called by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).
In a press release, the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) said it has decided to support and join the Bharat Vyapar Bandh on February 26.
CNCCI chairman Dr Khekugha Muru and general secretary Dr Seyievilie Mor said the bandh has been necessitated as the existing Goods and Service Tax (GST) regime, which is all India in nature, has become too difficult for business community to comply unless it is simplified.
The demand by business community across the country to the Union Government to simplify GST regime has not yet been addressed creating hardship and has become difficult to comply which has forced the business community to call for the bandh, they said.
The bandh will be limited only to commercial business activities and all other activities will not come under the purview of bandh or other activities will continue as normal.
Appealing to consumers to bear with the inconveniences and stand in solidarity with the business community, the CNCCI directed all District Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enforce the Bharat Vyapar Bandh on Feburary 26 from 6 am to 4 pm in their respective districts. (Page News Service)
