Be patient and hardworking to be successful footballer: Roko


Kohima, August 6: Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA), President Roko Angami today called upon the football players in the State to build patience in order to be successful player.
A footballer himself, Roko, who has formally played the game at the national and international level, was of the view that many Naga footballers are hot-tempered and they get angry if kept in substitute bench.
In his brief exhortation as the patron of a seventh round match of Kohima Football League organized by Kohima Town Club at Local ground here today, Roko said as players one should have patience and have the knowledge that coach knows the best moment for player to be sent to the field.
He therefore said that players should pay heed to their coaches and also respect the seniors and mentors to be successful footballer as “without patience one cannot progress in the game”.
Expressing that football is not an easy game while there is no shortcut to achieve success, he reiterated that they should be hardworking and dedicate sufficient time for practice instead of depending on recommendations from VIPs to move ahead.
