BASN postpones Miss Nagaland 2021 until further notice


Kohima, December 7: The Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN), has postponed the state most prestigious beauty pageant event Miss Nagaland 2021 until further notice to stand in solidarity with the Konyak community.

The beauty pageant was scheduled to be held on December 10 at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Kohima, as part of the Hornbill festival but the society decided to withdraw from their plan owing to the killing of civilians in Mon district by special forces of the Indian Military in Mon District of Nagaland between December 4 and 5.
Following the withdrawal of 4 contestants from the pageant on November 29, twelve participants were gearing up for the finale on December 10, informed BASN’s Publicist.
However, taking stock of the current situation all the twelve contestants have been sent back to their respective home, BASN publicist said while adding that the contestants have taken it to social media through poster campaign against the killing of civilians along with wearing black arm-bands.
