Banking services affected in Nagaland for 2nd consecutive day

Dimapur, March 16: Banking services were affected for second consecutive day in Nagaland as bank strike entered second day today.


The State Bank of India was joined by Punjab National Bank (UBI, Oriental Bank), UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda (Vijaya, Dena banks), Federal Bank Ltd, Indian Bank, Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank Union Bank and NStCB Ltd in the strike.
The protest/ dharna was held in front of SBI, Regional Business Office, Super Market, Dimapur. Today 104 employees from various Public Sector Banks attended the protest.
Ramesh Hasnu, President, NCBE chaired the protest. Main speakers were TAP Paul , State Secretary, AIBOC and President of SBIOA(NEC); Joshua, NSCB Ltd, Sufip Sen, Vice President NCBE and T L Lango Neikha, Regional Secretary, SBIOA & SEWA, Dimapur Region.
Massive protest against privatisation of PSUs/PSBs were observed yesterday and today at Kohima, Mokokchung and Dimapur under the umbrella of United Forum of Bank Union (UFBU). (Page News Service)
