‘Banking at Doorsteps’ in Tening

Dimapur, April 23: Under the aegis of Peren district administration, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) cum chairperson of SDTF on COVID-19, Rhosietho Nguori organized ‘Banking at Doorsteps’ and the first phase kicked off in Old Nzau and Ntuma village on April 20.
The purpose for doorstep banking is to serve the public with friendly service and to avoid overcrowding in the bank and ensure villagers stay safe at home during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bu dispensing cash in the midst of poor connectivity in the villages was the big challenge, said an official release. Cash transfer was done to 30 beneficiaries and further centralized transfer was facilitated through village councils to 100 beneficiaries.
