Ban polythene bags, recycle plastic wastes!

Dear Madam,
It is pleasant to see people coming out in large numbers to commemorate World Environment Day and pledge to make the state plastic free. But how? When the sale of plastic is not banned, it is possibile to do away plastic materials in Nagaland. Polythene bags are being used by every trader, plastic water bottle are randomly sold and empty bottles just thrown here and there. Just one day of cleaning will not help, but monitoring should be done everyday to minimise the use of plastic, which are non biodegradable materials. The first step should be complete ban on polythene bags of any microns, secondly control on plastic water bottles, which can be recycled, and third steps should be taken to make plastic waste reusable in the form of building plastic roads.
Toshi, Dimapur
