Ban on plying of heavy vehicles in Peren, Meluri

Dimapur, March 30: DC &DEO Peren, Sarita Yadav, IAS has banned plying of heavy vehicles on roads within Peren district from April 3 to 13.
This was decided in a meeting with members of Timber Union Peren on March 29 in view of the Parliamentary Election and in order to ensure smooth plying of vehicles on election duty.
All heavy vehicles deployed for carrying logs/fanta/pali post & other heavy vehicle items will not be allowed to ply for such period of days, the meeting resolved.
Meluri: Additional Deputy Commissioner and AERO Meluri, Phuleshe K.Yepthomi has notified that no heavy vehicles specially log-ladden truck (Shaktiman) except for essential commodities will be allowed to ply while the election process is underway.
In an order issued in view of the forth coming Lok Sabha election, the ADC said the ban will be effective from April 9 to 11. Any violators/non-compliance to the said order will invite strict action as per provision of the law. (Page News Service)
