Dimapur, April 9: Observing that due to the lockdown many local farmers are not able to avail transportation for delivery of their produce to the markets, the Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has initiated sale of organic vegetables procured from local farmers.
In a release, BAN said after getting permission from district administration to source produce of local farmers from various districts of Nagaland, it has started making them available in Dimapur.
On Thursday, BAN initiated sale of the organic vegetables from local farmers at DC court junction here.
“It has come to BAN’s notice that due to the lockdown many local farmers are not able to avail transportation for delivery of their produce to the markets. BAN is filling up this gap,” it said.
BAN informed that in the coming days, it will make available a variety of fresh organic vegetables, fruits, poultry etc. at various locations in Dimapur. Citizens can visit BAN’s website www.baofnagas.com or call 9436012590 / 700560977 to know details about the sale locations.
Meanwhile the BAN has appreciated the District administration, DMC and DCCI for taking the issue of discrimination of village councils and local traders in the wholesale market highlighted by the association and taking prompt measures to address the same. (Page News Service)
