Dimapur, September 23: Launch of ‘Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara’ along with health screening camp was held at District Hospital Kiphire on September 19 with Principal Director, Dr. Vikeyie Losu Department of H&FW, Nagaland and Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Sarita Yadav IAS.
Dr. Kikameren Longkumer, SPO AB- PMJAY, in his address, stated that GOI has decided to observe ” Ayushma Bharat Pakhwara” starting from 15-30th sept 2019. The objective of this fortnight celebration is to increase awareness about Ayushman Bharat and reach out to the beneficiaries with information about availing the services with a thematic approach covering both pillars of Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and PM-HMC.
He said “due to poor connectivity of economic census data and non availability of ration cards coupled with poor internet connectivity, we could enroll only about 32% of the 2.33 lakhs targeted households till date.” however, the scheme could prevent 3255 beneficiaries from the potential risk of impoverishment by providing free medical treatments, and underprivileged people are now accessible to quality healthcare not only within the state but can avail medical treatment anywhere in the country from any empanelled hospital, he added.\
Dr. Vikeyie Losu added that PMJAY was launched in Nagaland on 23rd sept 2018 along with the rest of the country. He further stated that a total of about 2.33 lakh poor and vulnerable families in the state are eligible for the scheme. “Till date, we have empanelled 63 hospitals comprising of 59 public and four private hospitals which includes four PHC of Kiphire districts.”
Deputy Commisioner Kiphire, Sarita Yadav IAS urged the public availing the scheme to promote it to the people so that it will be beneficial to all sections of society. DC further assured the Medical Department Kiphire that the District Administration will provide full support and cooperation in fulfulling and promoting health sector in the district.
To mark the commemoration of 1st Year anniversary of AYUSHMAN BHARAT- PMJAY & HWC, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier launched the Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara on September 21 at Community Health Centre (CHC) Jalukie. The programme was jointly organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Social Welfare & Urban Development, Peren under the aegis of National Health Authority.
Before the launching programme, Walkathon was flagged off by DC Peren, wherein, the participants marched from Jalukie town taxi stand to CHC Jalukie.
DTO Peren, Dr. Supongmenla Walling gave a brief overview about the significance of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara.
DC Peren said that central schemes are all made for the benefits of general public, and he encouraged the medical staff, NGOs and stakeholders to work hard and also spread awareness about the significance of Ayushman Bharat Pakhwara to the people.
The DC urged the beneficiaries to check their eligibility and avail e-card from the empanelled hospitals inorder to receive free health services upto an amount of Rs. 5 lakh.Earlier the programme was presided by Dy. CMO Peren, Dr. Yartenla Jamir. Beneficiary testimonial speech was delivered by Sunang Ntung of Jalukie town and facilitation of the best performing PMAM was awarded to Nlangchube Chamlak (CHC Jalukie).
