Dimapur, June 15: The Angami Youth Organization has congratulated the Government for the quick steps taken in constructing roads in Kohima.
“We see quality change of roads for the first time in Kohima covering almost every corner of the city. Far from the muddy and dusty face of the capital, it has taken a city akin to be called a city it deserves. We feel this pace should be covered all over Nagaland,” it said in a release.
The AYO said also commended the timely initiation and completion of works by various contractors who shaped Kohima roads. It also urged the Government to monitor and advise the contractors to maintain their areas of construction according to the specified guaranteed period.
Appealing to all citizens of Kohima to responsibly utilize the facilities made available to the city, the AYO also highlighted some areas of concerns like irresponsible parking, throwing out waste in running cars, and advised drivers of both public and private transport to use car bin to dispose their waste inside the car and later dump it at the appropriately designated place.
AYO reminded that it is improper to block the roads with building materials, releasing septic tanks without proper procedures, dumping waste in the rivulets etc. “We must all get involved in building up our city by contributing a respectable and responsible lifestyle,” it said.
Appreciating the overwhelming support from various colony denizens of Kohima when KVYO and KVSU initiated to clean Sanuorü and Dzüvürü rivers, AYO said this spirit of Kohima citizens’ consciousness is truly inspiring.
“We trust that Kohima will unite and create a new Kohima city not just in infrastructural development but more so of smart people,” it added.
