Awareness programme on PCPNDT Act and PMMVY held in Wokha

DIMAPUR, MARCH 1: Wokha district administration and DLCW-MSK under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) campaign, in collaboration with the department of Health and Family Welfare, Sakhi-One Stop Centre, organised a one-day awareness programme on PCPNDT Act (pre conception and pre Natal Diagnostic Technique Act) and PMMVY (Pradhan Mantri Vandana Yojana-Maternity Benefit Scheme) and free medical camp at Longsachung village community hall on February 28.
Case worker at Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon highlighted the PCPNDT Act and OSC, while Emilo, assistant district co-ordinator of PMMVY shared about the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Vandana Yojana- Maternity Benefit Scheme.
Dr. Thungjamo Jungio, medical officer at Primary Health Centre, Nyiro, sensitized the villagers about the COVID vaccination and encouraged them to avail the vaccine for healthy life.
Longsachung village council chairman, Yakhasao Ezung thanked the team for visiting and educating the villagers about the benefits of various schemes and policies. Later, a free medical camp was also conducted for the villagers, where 672 patients were treated for various ailments. They were provided with free medicines. (Page News Service)
