Dimapur, May 29: An awareness and sensitization program on substance abuse- focus on students was conducted at PBCA Hall, Phom Lempong, Longleng on May 28, organized by Phom Baptist Christian Association and Chief Medical Officer, Longleng on the theme, “Building a healthy citizen”.
The programme was organized taking into consideration the rise of the substance abuse and in order to save the younger generations from the abusive and addictive substances.
The program was chaired by S Phakmei, youth secretary PBCA while keynote address was delivered by Dr Obangjungla, Chief Medical Officer Longleng, D Robin (NCS) Additional Deputy Commissioner, Longleng was the special guests.
Resource persons Dr Lipok Phom (Jr specialist) spoke on Ill effects of illicit drug use and Tialemba Executive secretary, PBCA spoke on Spiritual and social wellbeing.
Around 920 students from different schools from Class 8 upwards attended the program.
