Dimapur, September 27: SPATIAL Project under Can Youth organized a one-day awareness programme on ‘Significance of child rights’ with Lozua Kape, Central Coordinator, Childline as the resource person. The programme was attended by the members of Dimapur Eastern Naga Students Union and its units, members and interns of Can Youth.
In her address, Lozua Kape introduced Childline to the participants and its different aspects. “Our society is not as good as it has been portrayed,” she said.
Sharing her experiences, Kape expressed the necessity of law enforcement as an important factor in delivering the needed rights to children. She stated that human trafficking is the most common in the form of child abuse which is violation of child rights. She emphasized on the various rights and its need to be recognized for the full development of an individual.
“Right is an entitlement. All rights are needs, but all needs cannot be translated into rights,” she added.
