Avengers Endgame set to be the most expensive movie ever made

The star-studded final instalment of the Avengers superhero franchise is set to be the most expensive film ever made.
Accounts suggest that Disney had spent close to £430 million on the blockbuster four months before production wrapped.
That puts it on course to eclipse 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the current record-holder for most expensive movie, at £427 million.
Avengers: Endgame has gone over-budget, Disney admitted, with the lion’s share going on stars and special effects.
The movie premieres in April and features an A-list cast including Gwyneth Paltrow, Michael Douglas, Benedict Cumberbatch, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr.
Accounts for the most recent financial year ending in June 2018 show spending hit £430.2million.
The vast majority of this is understood to have gone on Endgame, which then finished production in October.
Disney said the total includes some remaining costs for Infinity War – which took £1.6 billion worldwide after its 2018 release – but most of these were covered in the previous financial year.
