Dimapur, August 29: The Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) has refused to comply with the “summon” issued by the NSCN-K (Khango) to the organization and others to meet them in their office in Thilixu village at 4 pm on August 29 “for consultation/clarification on kidnapping allegation.”
In a press release, DAYO said taking cognizance of a crime committed by some cadres of NSCN-K (Khango) it had issued a press release on August 27 condemning the act. “As a fallout of this PR, the NSCN-K (Khango), through a communiqué dated 28.08.2020 summoned DAYO and others to meet them in their office in Thilixu village at 4.00 PM on 29th August 2020 “Request for consultation/clarification on kidnapping allegation”. In this regard, it is made known to all that DAYO does not deem itself obligated to comply with this demand of theirs,” it said.
DAYO said it firmly recognizes and believes that the law enforcing agencies of the Government of Nagaland are the only competent entities to handle and investigate the matter. “It would therefore allow the law to take its own course which is subjudice. DAYO feels it absolutely imperative and necessary to take this stand for the sake of civility and rule of law and not impede the investigation by conducting parallel deliberations.”
On the statement issued by the NSCN-K (Khango) that a mob of “Dimapur Ao Youth” took away the lady manager of Symbios Creations Pvt. Ltd. and prevented her from withdrawing the FIR, and forcibly filed the FIR in the kidnapping case, the DAYO categorically refuted both the allegations, which, it said, are totally false and baseless.
DAYO also advised the proprietor of SymBios Creation Pvt Ltd and the Aoyimti Lanur Telongjem not to attend any summons or meetings on the issue without the knowledge of DAYO.
Stating that it fully stand by its parent body ASTD resolution to safeguard the bonafide members advocating their livelihood and that any palpable harassment meted out without any tangible reason and proof shall not be tolerated, DAYO said the NSCN-K (Khango) may come to DAYO office anytime after prior information for any consultation deemed necessary.
DAYO further reiterated its demand to the concerned authorities to expedite the investigation and deliver justice so that rule of law prevails.
BAN: The Business Association of Nagaland (BAN) has also not accepted the “consultation/clarification meeting’ called by the NSCN/GPRN-K.
“BAN attending a consultation/clarification meeting is irrelevant as MIP NSCN/GPRN-K have already refuted the basis of allegation published on 29/08/2020. Thus, we find it futile for a meeting as BAN is not the appropriate authority to decide on the rebuttal,” it said in a press release.
This was decided in a BAN executive emergency meeting on August 29 to deliberate on the letter served to BAN by chairman NSCN/GPRN-K for a meeting.
“BAN is concerned on the kidnapping of a staff serving a Naga entrepreneur which has caused concern on the Naga entrepreneur. Business activity have been totally hampered due to the pandemic and businesses are just limping back to survive. Thus, BAN concerned on disturbing the business activity of BAN advisor, who is also a senior member in particular and a Naga in general, BAN as an association that exist to protect the interest of the Naga entrepreneurs deems apt to condemn such an act,” it stated.
The BAN stated that the case being with the executing authority, it looks forward for the investigating agency to complete the investigation without any interference whatsoever.
