Attestation parade held at ARTC&S


Dimapur, August 7: In a glittering ‘Attestation Parade’ held at the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, Sukhovi today, 346 Recruits including 82 Mahila Recruits were inducted into the Force.
Maj Gen P C Nair, YSM, IGAR (North) reviewed the parade which was witnessed by a large number of audience including parents of the recruits.
While addressing the recruits, IGAR (North) highlighted the antecedents of the Assam Rifles as the oldest Para Military force of the country and its diversified role which is all encompassing in the present day environment, ranging from security to providing welfare and developmental assistance to the civil population.
He stated that North East is a strategic area and its security is of paramount importance. The Assam Rifles is playing a stellar role in this regard.
IGAR (North) presented awards to the passing out recruits for their outstanding performance during training. Rfn Rahul Singh was awarded the medal for being the Best All Round Recruit. Rfn Brijesh Kumar, Rfn L A Niran Singha, Rfn Rajesh Barman and Rfn Them Hokip were awarded the medal for being best in Firing. Rfn Dilip Kumar, Rfn Appu Debbarma, Rfn Vijay Thapa and Rfn Choung Hokip were awarded the medal for being best in Drill while Rfn Ajay Dorji, Rfn A Triputi Rao, Rfn Manoj Singh, and Rfn Sita Chaturvedi were awarded the medal for being best in Physical Training.
