ATL inaugurated at Cornerstone Hr Sec. School


Dimapur, April 4: As part of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) launched by the NITI Ayog to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth, an Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) was installed at Corner Stone Higher Secondary School (CSHSS), Dimapur and inaugurated by DC Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel on April 3.
The DC said installation of the Lab would help the students to exhibit their innovation skills. He also said only few schools across the country have been sanctioned the ATLs.
The DC also pointed out that Nagaland has 4-5 lakhs unemployed youths. “If you are not employed, you do not contribute to the society and become a liability to the state,” he remarked.
He said that high school is a time for young minds to decide and determine their future and urged the students to take advantage of the facilities provided.
The objective of the AIM, as stated in the mission statement, is to promote technology driven “world-class Innovation Hubs, Grand Challenges, Start-up businesses and other self-employment activities.”
ATL is a sub-component of the AIM through which the Government of India seeks to further the undertaking of creating an environment of scientific temperament, innovation and creativity amongst students.
CSHSS Board Chairman, Dr. Sashimeren expressed confidence that the ATL will benefit not only the students of the school but also the children of the surrounding neighbourhood. (Page News Service)
