ASU reiterate stand on students’ welfare

Dimapur, November 13: The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) in its continued effort to work for the welfare of the students’ community has again reiterated its stand on various matters concerning students.
While lauding the educational institutions for striving towards excellence, the union insisted upon the authorities to totally abstain from the culture of imposing fines as corrective measures to any detained students but rather to opt for some alternative remedial mean as facilitators of education. In case of institutions practising such practices would invite consequences, it warned.
The union also reminded teachers providing tuition to students to comply with the norm set by the union under the “Students Code” through an earlier notification.
It also strictly discouraged dropping and picking of students from Government registered vehicles.
Further, in view with the end-terminal examinations, the union appealed to all concerned, particularly on-going construction works, to restrain from using machineries after 6 pm in order to enable the students a study-friendly environment.
Meanwhile the ASU has prayed for good health of the students and conveyed best wishes to all the examinees for their forthcoming exams.
