Piphema, March 22: The 28th Biennial general conference of Angami Students’ Union (ASU) commenced today under the theme “Aspiring Dynamics” with Principal Secretary of School Education Menukhol John as the introductory speaker at Piphema.
The three day conference is being hosted by Piphema Students’ Union.
Speaking on the topic “Hopes and Visions – Our Realistic Response”, John said that as students one should have a great hope and vision without which one will become hopeless. “We should be the designers and shapers of our own future,” he said.
The Principal Secretary said that one should be clear and determined with the hope of being self-reliant at certain age they desire. In this, he encouraged the students to put God first in everything as they are the backbone of the future society.
Secretary NSDMA (Home) Rovilato Mor also exhorted the gathering while Angami Youth Organization was the guest for the introductory session.
Chaired by ASU vice president Petekhrietuo Kiewhuo the introductory session commenced with invocation prayer by Pastor of CRC Piphe Basa, Khovi Chalieu while welcome note and greetings was proposed by Chakhroma Students’ Union and President of PKKK Zhato Kimho respectively.
General Secretary report for the year 2017-2019 was delivered by ASU General Secretary, Vizokho Zashümo.
Special number was presented by Northern Angami Students’ Union.
Hundreds of student delegates from four range Northern Angami Students’ Union (NASU), Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU), Western Angami Students’ Union (WASU) and Chajhroma Students’ Union (CSU) are attending the conference.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will grace the inaugural program as the main speaker on Saturday at 10 a.m. (Page News Service)
