Assam Rifles organizes free dental camp

Dimapur, March 13: Shamator Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised free Dental Check up and immediate treatment at Noklak Town Noklak dist Nagaland on March 11.
30 NCC girl cadets from 1 Nagaland NCC Bn also attended the free Dental Check up. Toothbrush and toothpaste kits were also distr to local children.
AR promotes organic farming
Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) procured and handed over various items for drip-irrigation system to promote organic/ natural farming to village council Chairman at Samzuiram Village, Peren District, Nagaland on March 11.
Assam Rifles personnel under Assam Rifles Civic Action Project procured & handed over necessary infrastructure for natural farming in the village as well as Self Help Groups from neighbouring villages. The attendees were also educated on fundamentals of drip irrigation farming and encouraged towards entrepreneurship at village level.
The villagers were educated on on-farm biomass recycling with major stress on biomass mulching, use of on-farm cow dung-urine formulations; periodic soil aeration and exclusion of all synthetic chemical inputs. They were also encouraged to maintain cleanliness in the farm for optimum health of the product and were briefed about different issues which could hamper the production and necessary steps to be taken to avert that.
Meanwhile, Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) organised awareness lecture on “Know your Army Career guidance” for the students at Athibung town and Nchengram Peren district, Nagaland on March 11.
The event was organised with the dual aim of creating awareness regarding various commissions & entries in Army thereby also motivating students to join defence forces. A brief lecture on Indian defence forces along with salient battles fought by Indian Army was delivered to the students. Emphasis was also laid down on various women entry schemes.
Jalukie Battalion also carried out a cleanliness drive in collaboration with local populace at Nchengram village.
The security forces along with the youths and villagers raised awareness on the importance of cleanliness in one’s daily life and global ecosystem. The drive aimed to achieve the vision of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
