Dimapur, May 2: Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) on the occasion of “International Labor Day”, felicitated labourers working at Thilixu, 5th Mile and Chumukedima areas, Dimapur on May 1. Gift items were presented to 20 labourers with the aim of thanking and appreciating the hard work they have put in Nation Building.
The gift distributed contained daily need and COVID-19 prevention items.
Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) celebrated International Workers day at Kiphire, Mimi, Longmatre and Pungro Villages, Kiphire District on May 1.
A felicitation program was conducted to honour the services of the labour community in which essential rations were provided to the workers lunch was also organized for 11 labour personnel at Pungro town. A total of 133 labourers attended the event in four villages.
Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) celebrated International Workers Day at Chieswema, Tseminyu, Jessami and Cheiphebozu villages of Kohima and Phek District in Nagaland on May 1.
As part of this, essential rations were provided to the workers.
Phek Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) reached out to labourers by distributing basic COVID sanitary items at Phek, Ziphu, Meluri, Avangkhu, New Thewati and Akhen in Phek District on May 1.
As part of this, masks, sanitizers, multivitamins and essential rations were distributed to the locals. These people are doing yoeman service in difficult terrain during unprecedented times of the COVID pandemic to make ends meet. A total of 169 villagers got benefitted from the event.
Medziphema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) felicitated labourers on ‘International Labour Day’ at Nihokhu, Kukidolong Ghaspani and Zubza Villages of Dimapur and Kohima Districts in Nagaland on May 1.
On the occasion of International Labour’s Day, Importance of COVID-19 protocols were deliberated upon which was followed by refreshments with the workers. Med kits like masks and sanitizers were also distributed to the workers.
The efforts of Assam Rifles was well received and adequately appreciated by the workers and locals of the area.
Meanwhile, Jairampur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (North) celebrated the International Labour Day at Jairampur, Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh on May 1.
International Labour Day is dedicated to all labourers across the world and encourages them to be aware of their rights and symbolizes the efforts that has been put in for improvement of the society overall.
To celebrate the International Labour Day and to show solidarity towards the labourers, Jairampur Battalion, visit to World War II Cemetery was conducted to pay respect and reverence to the labourers who laid down their lives in construction of the Stillwell Road.
Changlang, Khonsa and Longding Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) showcased their allegiance towards welfare and safety of people of South Arunachal Pradesh.
On the occasion of International Labour Day, a number of activities to include lecture on policies of Min of Labour & Employment, GOI, Precautions for prevention against COVID 19, distribution of Mask, sanitizers and rations were carried out at all the Battalion locations.
The aim of these activities was to educate labourers of the region about their basic rights and highlighting their importance in nation building. The event witnessed fervent participation from labourers and local population.
The local population conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles for conduct of informative event for their welfare of the people.
