Dimapur, May 23: The BJP Nagaland has condemned the assassination of Arunachal NPP MLA, Tirong Aboh and his convoy in an ambush in Tirap District on May 21 where 10 people were killed.
State BJP president Temjen Imna Along said the assassination cannot be termed as personal to late Tirong Aboh, but it is an act of terrorism.
“Such dastardly act is devoid of common sense and cannot be accepted in the present set up of democratic world. Allowing such barbaric acts to continue will only take out civilization back to stone age,” said State BJP president in a release.
Stating that the case should not only be left to the Arunachal Government to tackle, but it should be a joint and concerted effort of State forces and central forces to joint investigate and operate together until justice is served, the party said unless nipped in the bud, it will raise its ugly head and cause serious national security problem.
The party also expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
The Naga Hoho has vehemently condemned the gruesome assassination of Arunachal legislator from Khonsa A/C Tirong Aboh (a Nocte Naga tribe), his son and nine others by unknown miscreants on May 21 in Bogapani area under Tirap District.
“Arunachal Pradesh was one of the peaceful states in the North East for the past many years. Naga people have been working hard to find a solution to the Indo-Naga political issues for the past more than two decades. At a time when negotiations with the Government of India is nearing a concluding phase, mutual
respect and understanding is expected through democratic means from all aspects of life. Violence and bloodshed will bring only unmanageable proposition,” it said in a statement.
Expressing surprise that different agencies are suspecting “this and that” for the killing, yet are unable to nab the culprits till now giving rise to suspicion of “sinister design”, the NH urged the competent authority to investigate thoroughly and book the culprits as per the demands and wishes of the people.
The NH also appealed to all sections of communities in Arunachal Pradesh to restrain from creating rumours and hatred among fellow citizens so as to ensure secure atmosphere at this “baffling moment”.
The Naga Hoho further conveyed deepest condolences to all the bereaved family members and prayed for God’s solace at this moment of grief and sorrow.
