AR seizes large amount of illegal arms, foreign currency

Dimapur, June 3: Kohima Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) based on a specific input of possession of illegal arm, ammunitions and war like stores and extortion activities by Vizosieihou Nagi, general secretary, NNC(NA) conducted an operation along with police representatives in Jotsoma science college area on Sunday and recovered two point 303 rifles, one double barrel shot gun, one 12 bore rifle, one SBBL rifle, one 9 mm pistol, one 7.65 mm pistol, one point 22 mm pen pistol, three magazines of 9 mm, 7.65 mm and point 22 mm each.
According to an AR release, ammunitions recovered were four rounds of 9 mm, 27 rounds of 7.65 mm, 81 rounds of point 22 mm, 34 rounds of 12 bore rifle, one 9 mm fired case and one passive night vision binocular, and one binocular. Cash amounting to Rs 10,87,057, which included US Dollars 15,671 (in denominations of $100 x 156 numbers, $20 x 2 numbers, $10 x 2 numbers, $5×1 numbers and $1 x 6 numbers) and Indian currencies worth Rs 38,100 were recovered.
The AR also seized incriminating documents revealing extortion amount of Rs 28,08,062 from the residence of Vizosieihou Nagi, general secretary, NNC(NA). The release informed that Nagi was not present in the house. The recoveries were handed over to Zubza Police Station for further investigation.
