
Dimapur, January 21: Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) handed over Wheelchair to a 110 years old man residing along remote border village of Wangti region in Mon district of Nagaland on January 19 last in presence of village authorities.
A medical camp was also organized to provide medical support and assistance to the villagers especially the old, handicapped, orphaned people and the women who are unable to go to the hospitals at far distances. A total of 56 villagers benefitted from the camp. Free medicines were provided in addition to educating people on the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation.
All the villagers expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the Security Forces for this noble gesture and the genuine step taken by Assam Rifles for improvement of life standard of the remote area villagers. (Page News Service)
