Dimapur, March 3: The Assam Rifles has destroyed temporary camps of NSCN (IM) at Ikiesingram and Beisumpuloa village on March 1 & 2 respectively.
A joint release issued by the two villages said the Assam Rifles chased the NSCN (IM) cadres in the outskirts of Beisumpuloa village and pushed them in deep inside the Intangki jungle.
Presently Assam Rifles hawans are staying at Khelma kabai area and searching for the cadres in the jungle, the release informed.
The release informed that villagers of the area are frightened by heavy movement of armed forces and “praying for not repetition of 1990s time”. It claimed that NSCN (IM) cadres have been camping in Khelma kabai area (Peren, Nagaland) since last July.
Requesting authorities of both parties to solve the issue peacefully and maintain the harmonious environment in the area, the release also requested the NSCN (IM) to recall back their 11 cadres to Hebron from their area for peace to prevail.
“Villagers of the area are mentally in panic situation by seeing armed cadres presence in the area,” it added. (Page News Service)
