Dimapur, November 28: As part of the ongoing crackdown on insurgent groups, five active cadres of NSCN (KN) were apprehended by Assam Rifles from Dimapur on November 26.
A press release issued by Lt Col L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) said based on specific intelligence inputs regarding presence of five armed cadres of NSCN (KN) faction in general area Burma camp, Dimapur, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation and during search operation, the troops apprehended ‘ss’ Major Kughaho Chishi (44), a resident of Sukhato village; ‘ss’ Captain Nitoshe (41), a resident of Vihokhu village; ‘ss’ Captain Vikaho Yeptho (48), a resident of Khatohe village; ‘ss’ Private Tokato Asumi (34), a resident of Litami village amd ‘ss’ Private Tali Rocky (37), a resident of Pinger village.
The AR recovered three factory made pistols with magazines, ammunitions and other incriminating materials.
The apprehended cadres along with recoveries were handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur on November 26 for further investigation.
2 NSCN (K-YA) cadre held
Earlier on November 23, two active cadres of NSCN (K-YA) were apprehended by the troops of Assam Rifles from Kohima.
A IGAR (N) release said based on specific intelligence regarding presence of two armed cadres of NSCN (K-YA) faction in Naga Bazar, Kohima, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation along with a police representative of North Police Station and after a detailed search, the teams apprehended ‘ss’ Sgt Major Hoshito Ayemi alias Kumsu (27), a reisdent of Vekuho village and ‘ss’ 2nd Lieutenant Kashika (21), a resident of Shuruhoto village.
The AR recovered two point 22 pistols, nine rounds, two magazines and other incriminating documents. They were handed over to North Police Station, Kohima on November 24 for further investigation.
