Kohima, November 22: The Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Kohima under Nagaland State Agriculture Marketing Board (NSAMB) today opened marketing shed for the organic farmers of Kohima district at TCP Gate.
The market named “APMC Organic Market” was formally inaugurated by Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) administrator Kovi Meyase in presence of officials from APMC Kohima.
In his address, Meyase said that in accordance with the principles of Kohima Smart City, the KMC has been doing its best to keep Kohima city smart & clean and therefore it has pleading the footpath vendors to move to the designated sheds with their produce. In this, he urged the vendors to cooperate with the KMC and keep the surrounding clean.
Appreciating the APMC Kohima for facilitating the organic farmers through the construction of this daily marketing shed, he also asked the vegetable the Committee to create awareness and discourage the use of plastic bags in the marketing shed.
Chairperson of APMC Kohima, Kevinourheno Seyie said the marketing shed have been constructed to enable the local farmers to sell organic produces and boost their economy. She also lauded KMC for providing the space for construction of the shed. (Page News Service)
