Dimapur, May 2: Agriculture Production Commissioner, Nagaland, Y Kikheto Sema chaired the coordination meeting on implementation of PMKUSUM-Solar water pumping for agriculture and Rooftop Solar program at the conference hall of NABARD, Nagaland on April 30 last.
Sema said that agriculture activities cannot be stopped and mentioned that the state government should take up PMKUSUM as the state government already has Soil Health Management and Agromet programmes which could be incorporated in the Naga Model Integrated Settled agriculture.
He said the vision of the ministry of double income cannot be achieved without water.
Key note of the program was delivered by the Senior Director, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Jeveen Jethani, Scientist F, where he deliberated on PMKUSUM and Rooftop Solar Energy programmes.
He also shared some success stories in other parts of the country, especially in the state of Tripura. GM NABARD, Tiakala briefed on NABARD’s role executed in the state of Tripura under RIDF followed by a PowerPoint presentation.
