Dimapur, May 12: While understanding the plight of the stranded citizens, the Ao Senden today opined that cues from neighbouring states have taught the unfortunate report of deaths and continual struggle to contained the dreaded COVID-19, has been introduced by the asymptomatic people coming from infected areas.
In the event of such an unfortunate scenario in Nagaland, the Ao Senden expressed doubts of its containment owing to the community based culture and tradition of the people and the capacity of the medical facilities to handle increased cases.
In this regard, the Ao Senden appealed to the Chief Minister, Government of Nagaland to continue its lockdown policy and shelve the program of arrangement for travel of its stranded citizens back to the state.
It said the Government may rather enhance on its noble initiative of providing relief and other means of assistance to those stranded citizens. This would be the best possible strategy to maintain the safety of the people of the state, which would require an informed decision by the government and a corresponding sacrifice required on its people, it added.
The Ao Senden also acknowledged and appreciated the efforts being put in by the Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister to contain the dreaded COVID-19 in the state. (Page News Service)
