Ao Senden calls for lockdown extension

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, MAY 18: The Ao Senden has appealed to the Government of Nagaland to extend the ongoing lockdown in the State till the situation returns to normalcy.
In a representation to Nagaland Chief Minister, the Ao Senden said extension of lockdown is necessary in order to break the chain of COVID-19 community spread and in the larger interest and safety of the people of Nagaland.
Acknowledging the effort of the State Government along with the sacrifices put in by the frontline workers to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Ao Senden, however, observed that due to the rapid increase of positive cases and surge in the number of casualties with each passing day, community spread is endangering the lives of the people.
Also observing that the smooth functioning of the various District Task Forces for COVID-19 is being hindered due to financial constraints, the Ao Senden appealed to the State Government to allocate enough financial assistance to all the DTFs in the State. (Page News Service)
