Dimapur, May 21: Anti-Terrorism Day is observed throughout the nation on May 21 every year to commemorate the death anniversary of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
ARC (Ahthibung Region Club) in collaboration with Eimi Nexus, GHS, Christian High school, Ahthibung and Assam Rifles took this initiative to observe this day in remembrance of all citizens who fall prey in hand of terrorism.
Nearly 340 people, which consisted of students from GHS, Christian School, Ahthibung and Youths of the region were part of this event.
Event commenced with a pledge ceremony where all attendees took resolution for opposing all forms of terrorism and support the integrity of the nation. Students of both the schools carried out a Flag March in the town with holding slogans against terrorism.
Few selected students drew paintings on anti-terrorism theme. Officer from Assam Rifles and Paotinlam Guite, President of Eimi Nexus gave motivational talks and urged the gathering to follow lawful path in life.
Elvis Singson, Headmaster GHS, Ahthibung and Seiminlal Thomsong Teacher from CSA applauded the efforts of these NGOs and government forces for observing such occasions which can guide our students in right direction. (Page News Service)
