ANTA office vandalism: Dist taxi associations to converge in Kohima on June 21

Kohima, June 18: A day the vandalism of the office of the All Nagaland Taxi Association Headquarters Kohima, a general meeting of all the districts units of ANTA will be held on Wednesday here to decide the further course of action.
ANTA sources said that the executive meeting held today decided that an emergency meeting of all the district units has been scheduled for June 21 in Kohima to deliberate on the next course as the armed miscreants had held the ANTA general secretary at gunpoint and also vandalized the office.
While and FIR has been lodged at North Police Station Kohima and police are investigating the matter, the general body meeting will decide on how to deal with the issue, source said.
Meanwhile, the ANTA Hq Kohima vehemently condemning ‘the obnoxious act’ of vandalizing the Head Office said the tyrannical miscreants intervened and held the General Secretary ANTA Hq at gunpoint and vandalized the office, which house the welfare of the Taxi Drivers and Owners in all the districts of Nagaland.
The unwarranted vandalism of the ANTA Office by the unknown tyrannical miscreants and putting the life of the official in danger was a clear manifestation of cowardice and unacceptable which needed to be seriously dealt with befitting law, by the law enforcing agencies, ANTA Hqs said in a release.
The union further urged for thorough investigation into the incident and ensure those responsible held accountable for their actions.
While expressing anguish over the vandalism, the ANTA also assured it fullest commitments to cooperate with the law enforcing agencies as and when called for to eradicate the evil act from the society.
Nagaland Two Wheeler Taxi Association condemns:
The Nagaland Two wheeler taxi Association has expressed deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the recent act of vandalism that occured on Saturday night where some unknown miscreants enter the ANTA Kohima hq office for yearly tax. When one of the ANTA Executive strongly condemned and stand on one tax one government and refused to make their demands, one of the Miscreant put a gunpoint on the executive and the other unknow miscreants started vandalizing there office.
This act of mindless destruction not only reflects lack of regards for others property but also showcases a complete disregard for the value of our society, said NTWTA president Keneisalie Belho in a release.
The NTWTA condemned their action and said it unacceptable.
The ANTA Kohima Hq has been providing essential services to the community, facilitating safe and reliable transportation for the public and the fact that such an act has been carried out against a well -established and respected taxi office like ANTA office is particularly distressing, he said.
The NTWTA requested the law enforcement agencies to take immediate step to investigate this incident thoroughly and ensure justice is served at the earliest. It is crucial that those responsible for this act of vandalism face appropriate legal consequences, he said.
