ANSTA urge Govt to release SSA teachers’ salary

Dimapur, May 4: The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has urged the present PDA Government to take up the issues of pending salary of SSA teachers and regularization of adhoc teachers on top priority.
In a release, ANSTA said the SSA teachers’ agitation is hampering academic interest of the students and students are made suffer for no fault of them. It reminded that one election manifesto of the present PDA Government was timely release of teacher’s salary if elected to power.
The association hoped the PDA will maintain the integrity of their manifesto by releasing pending salaries of the teachers in time.
Adhoc teachers’ issue
At the same time, the ANSTA informed that the regularization of 1166 adhoc teachers has the clearance from P&AR, Finance, Screening Committee except waiting for
Cabinet approval. It said the Court case of ACAUT & PASN is very clear and has no implication on regularization of 1166 adhoc teachers in any manner. It requested the Cabinet to have an early sitting and approve the said proposal since it is a long pending case.
The association also mentioned that the salary of adhoc teachers has been fixed as Rs 6700 for Primary Teacher and Rs 8400 for Graduate Teacher, which is much lesser than the salary of their own peon & chowkidar.
In view of the facts and circumstances, the association in the larger interest of the teaching community requested the PDA Government to address the genuine issues of teachers on priority basis.
