KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 2: Following the rejection of her bail application by the lower court on August 25, animal activist Hema Choudhary has approached the High Court.
Her bail application was listed for motion on September 2 before the Kohima Bench of Guahati High Court.
However, a reliable source told Nagaland Page that the High Court has directed the Special Judge for SC & ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, Kohima, to furnish the records within 2 days before the Registry and the matter to be taken up after 3 days for hearing.
It may be noted that animal rights activist Choudhary’s bail application was heard in a Special Court at Kohima on August 20 and order was reserved till August 25, as some matters were still under progress.
Subsequently, the Special Court in Kohima rejected the bail application.
Choudhary (35) was arrested on July 17 by Nagaland Police for making objectionable comments in a Youtube video which she posted on July 7. Consequently FIRs were lodged against her in Delhi, Mumbai and Nagaland, and an offence was registered by Nagaland cybercrime police under section 153A, 153B and 505 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
