Kohima, July 25: Top officials from Andhra Pradesh will pay a two day visit of the State to discuss the matter related to ban of formalin laced fishes, which were detected recently by the State health officials.
Sources said the two officials from the Department of Fishes, Andhra Pradesh will arrive in the State Capital on a two day visit where there would meet officials from the State Health Department and discuss the matter in regard to ban of formalin fishes, mostly imported from Andhra Pradesh.
The two officials who are expected to land in the State are Commissioner of Fisheries, Rama Sankar Naik and Deputy Director of Fisheries, Dhanunjaya.
Currently the State Health Department is investigating the matter and that till fishes imported from outside have been banned.
The two officials from Andhra Pradesh have also visited Assam and Meghalaya and discussed the issue with their counterparts and health officials.
Two weeks State government seized huge quantity of formalin laced fishes, most of them from Andhra Pradesh.
Several States in the country have banned the formalin laced fishes which has hit hard the fish industry in Andhra Pradesh.
